One of the ways that we aimed to reach our school system was through the Todd Becker Foundation. – One of the constant questions that leadership at our church asks is, “How can we better reach our local community and school system with the Gospel of Jesus Christ?” Our desire is to see and loving community of active Christ-followers rise up and bring the light of Christ to our dark world. It is with high recommendation that I urge local churches & Christian organizations to support this amazing ministry. I have been blessed to have seen the Todd Becker Foundation come to our community twice (this year and nearly 7 years ago) and look forward to hearing how God will continue to bless this ministry in the many years to come.” Local pastors, church youth groups, & volunteer believers then led any students who came forward in a personal conversation that focused on coming to know Christ as their personal savior. Students were given the opportunity to give their life to Christ by publicly coming down to the gym floor and kneeling before their God. The evening assembly was perhaps the most powerful evangelism message that I have seen presented to a teenage audience. The focus was on the walk that Keith took to become saved after his brother’s tragedy and how students need to consider the eternal question of ‘do you know what will happen when you die’.

Yet at the same time, while Keith emphasized that students need to get on the ‘narrow path’, he left open the door of how to get on the narrow path for his evening assembly (where he would present the gospel). This is a lesson that most teachers or administrators would agree is important to hear. As a public school teacher, I found the afternoon assembly to be one that kept the students on the edge of their seats, emphasizing making life changing good choices (which is an essential message even for the secular audience).
